About Pamela Odukoya

My passion for growth and career development as well as the frustration of navigating the job market as a mid-career professional inspired me to set up Calabash Careers Coaching.

My journey was difficult and the support available was limited at the time.  My mission now is to help others have a smoother mid-career journey.

The name “Calabash” is significant. The fruit of a calabash tree can be "transformed" into a range of valuable items such as cooking vessels and artifacts,  This "transformation" of the Calabash fruit represents the transformational growth you can experience when you engage with one of my services – Careers Coaching, Job Interview Coaching, or Personal Development workshop.

My monthly online newsletter, ARISE, is where I share insights and tools about career planning and leadership. Readers can expect insightful content that addresses the unique challenges and opportunities faced by mid-career professionals. Curating and researching topics for ARISE fuels my passion for writing, allowing me to explore, learn, and create with purpose.

Beyond ARISE, I have contributed leadership-focused articles to notable magazines like Indezine,  Startacus, and NetworkShe, each boasting a readership of over 14,000.

As an active member of Toastmasters International, I regularly write and deliver engaging speeches, honing my communication skills. Serving as Division K Director, I have led twenty clubs across five areas, gaining firsthand experience in servant leadership within the voluntary sector. This role has deepened my understanding of leadership through service, reinforcing the value of empowerment and collaboration

My Career Planning Framework

Drawing on my wealth of experience in private, public, and voluntary organisations, I have  developed  a career planning framework that highlights seven key areas that impacts on career developement. These aspects are encapsulated in the acronym BALANCE.  Using this framework with clients helps them to achieve postitive outcomes.

What does the “BALANCE” framework entail? Let us examine its key aspects in detail.

B- Be Self Aware

A - Align your goals with your values

L- Leverage your network
